To our wonderful community,
After a long, tumultuous year, the Bluewater Kitchen team is announcing the permanent closure of the Market at Bluewater Kitchen - a cornerstone of our town and community. After 6 years of serving fresh, made from scratch food and building wonderful relationships, the Market’s final day was September 20, 2025.
This was an impossibly difficult decision. Unfortunately, with mounting operational costs and a small team spread too thin both professionally and personally, it is no longer sustainable to keep the Market doors open. Ultimately, we had to make the heartbreaking and difficult decision to close the Market and put everything we have back into our catering operations.

Executive Chef and Owner, Michael Kozich, says “The decision to close the Market was something my team and I discussed tirelessly. In the end it was what was best for our team and business. I am now ready to move on and stick to our roots by growing Bluewater Kitchen with a full focus on catering and events.”
Bluewater Kitchen Catering is and always will be open and operating as a full scale caterer available to cater gatherings big and small, serving locally sourced and inspired cuisine to the greater Washington, DC area. Starting November 1, 2025, all quick order, drop-off catering will be moved over to our catering and events website: www.bwkitchen.com.

To our wonderfully dedicated team, thank you for all your hard work during the past six years to make this Market the community staple it has become. This endeavor truly would not have been successful without you.
